TUPA
This game was very popular during the old days when a community contains plenty
of coconut trees. According to our grandparents, it was prominent that people
from other towns and villages would go to a host town to play this game and bet for money.
It is a game of the strongest coconut. Two players with one peeled coconut each
with the water removed. The two players will toss coin of who will get to hit
first. The loser in the toss coin will roll his coconut and his opponent will
hit it. The other player has his turn to hit also. Whoever coconut breaks or
breaks more losses the game. The rolling and the hitting had its own different techniques but still whoever finds
the thick and unbreakable coconut wins.
It is said that once a coconut is broken, those kids watching are racing to get
it. This game was discontinued because of the rising cost and decreasing numbers
of coconut trees.
